LIHU‘E — AOL-TimeWarner executive Steve Case made a return visit to Kaua‘i Saturday to take part in the grand opening of Grove Farm Co.’s full 18-hole Puakea Golf Course.
In remarks made during the ceremonies, Case said he was glad to be part of the realization of Grove Farm Company’s vision.
Case’s investment in taking over Grove Farm have sparked a revitalization of Kukui Grove Center, the completion of the formerly nine-hole golf course and other new Grove Farm projects in the Lihu‘e-Puhi area.
His grandfather “Hib” Case was the treasurer for Grove Farm before and after World War II, and served as head of food distribution on Kaua‘i during the World War II years. He is also believed to have installed the first electronic business accounting system in the sugar cane plantation industry of Hawai‘i, back in the 1950s.
