Beatrice Coleman
Beatrice Coleman, of Aiea, died July 31, 2003, at Kapi‘olani Medical Center at Pali Momi at the age of 69.
Born in Waimea on June 7, 1934, she was a retired secretary at Hickam AFB.
She is survived by her husband, Hugh (formerly of Wailuku, Maui); sons, Patrick (Janette) of Japan, Donald (Maribel), Hugh D. “Macky” Jr. (Yvette), Scott (Stephanie); daughter, Carla (Bobby) Colburn; mother, Petra Sialana of Kekaha; brothers, Paul (Becky) Sialana of Kekaha, Rudy (Carol) Sialana of California; sisters, Katy (Arnold) Mahelona of California, Angela Triplett of California, 13 grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, Aug. 6, at St. Elizabeth Church (Aiea) from 9 a.m. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Aloha attire is suggested and flowers omitted.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Mortuary.
Benjamin Akau Jr.
Benjamin “Kalani” Akau Jr. of Lihu‘e, died at Queen’s Medical Hospital, on August 1, 2003, at the age of 44.
Born in Honolulu on December 15, 1958, he was a courier for Clinical Laboratory and a deacon at The Koloa Church.
He is survived by his wife, Yulian “Putsie” Akau; two sons, Joshua and Kaupili Akau; daughter, Kuuipo Akau; parents, Benjamin and Debonair Akau Sr., five brothers, Glenn (Collette) Akau, Guy Akau, Danny (Kuulei) Akau, Dwayne (Erin) Akau, Ivan (Maria) Akau; sister, Dolly Anna (Edwin) Garces, numerous ohana and friends.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, Aug. 8, at Koloa Assembly of God Church from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. where service will begin at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at the church cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.
