M Patao-Torres of the Maui Swim Club churns the backstroke to the turn of the 10 Under Boys IM (Individual Medley) event at the Mokihana Aquatics Fun Meet on Sunday at the Kaua‘i High School pool.
Patao-Torres overtook top seeded Ryan Knutson, also of Maui Swim Club, to take the event, keeping ahead of Knutson in the Breastroke and Free portion of the medley. Coming off the blocks, Patao-Torres was seeded at 1:46.41 for the event, a scant .39 second difference slower than Knutson who was seeded 1:46.02. Results of the two-day meet will be run in a future issue of TGI.
