Layne Morita fired a final-round 74 for first place in the boys 15-18 Championship Flight at the 2003 Summer Challenge at Puakea Golf Course on July 19 and 20.
Sean Ogawa was second after he shot a 78. Cory French was third with a 78 and Billy Toy was fourth with a 79.
In the 15-18 boys “A” Flight Bubby Saiki was first with a 95 while Keoki Saiki also tied with a 95 (but took second) and Tom Hashimoto was third with a 99.
Jennie Pleas took top honors in the girls 15-18 division after an 84 in the Championship Flight. Shelcie Takenouchi was second with an 85 and Miki Ueoka was third with an 85.
In the boys 12-14 Championship Flight, Nikko Tacsiat earned first place after a 79 while Noel Torres was second with an 80 and Jet Levinthol was third with an 86.
Travis Toguchi fired a 77 for first place in the boys “A” 12-14 class while Cyrus Ogawa was second with a 78 and Markland Soliva was third with an 85.
In the 12-14 boys “B” class, Wiley Yoshioka was tops with an 86 while Bryon Rualizo was next after a 99.
Kyle Wong beat the competition in the 11-12 boys Championship Flight with a 94 while Taylor Bell was second after a 95 and Shea Shimabukuro was third with a 97.
In the girls 11-12 Championship Flight, Rae-Lyn Morikawa was tops with a 93 followed by Jaexenne Balilea was second with a 94.
In the boys 10-12 “18 Hole “A” Flight” , Noa Matsuyoshi won by nine strokes (91) over Justin Uegawa (100) and 13 stroke better than Hoku Costa (104).
Nathan Wong fired a 51 in the 10-12 “9 Hole “A” Flight”. La‘akea Warren was second after a 55 and Reyn Morikoa was third with a 56.
In the 10 and under “A” Flight 200 yards competition, Dylan Baliscan was first with a 44 and Kai Adachi was second with a 52.
Jameyia Shamia was tops in the 10 and under “A” Flight 100 yards class with a 74.
