Leonila J. Carlos of Lihu‘e, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on July 3, 2003 at the age of 69.
Born in the Philippines on August 18, 1933, she was a janitor for Lihu‘e Airport.
She is survived by six children: Gil (Aleli L.L.) Carlos of Lihu‘e, Mary (William) Bran of Lihu‘e, Noel (Maribeth) Carlos of Lihu‘e, Bessie (Teresito) Fulgencio of San Diego, California, Jolly Carlos of Lihu‘e, Asprenio Carlos of Lihu‘e; sister, Rosita (Cornelio) Bacani of the Philippines; brother, Rogelio (Alicia) Juico of the Philippines, 11 grandchildren, numerous relatives and friends.
Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, July 20, at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Casual attire is suggested.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Gordon Barker
Gordon (Gordini) Claude Barker died at his home in Wailua Homesteads on July 13, 2003.
Born in Oakland, Calif., Gordon moved to Kaua’i in 1978 to manage his parents’ Grandfather’s Restaurant in Coconut Plantation Marketplace. He later owned and ran Kay Barker’s Bed & Breakfast until it was sold in 1996.
He is survived by companion of 14 years Kathy Ayers; his two sons Roland (Lisa Parker) Barker of Kipahulu, Maui and Paul (Gerda) Barker of Austin, Texas; and his brother Charles (Alice) Barker of Seattle, Washington.
Memorial will be held at Wailua Boat Launch, July 26 at 1 p.m.. The family requests people bring pupus and beverages in lieu of flowers.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Mortuary.
Sally Lindsay
Sally Lindsay died at her home in Saratoga, CA on July 18, 2003, at the age of 79.
Sally loved music and loved to dance. She is survived by her six children including Valerie Woods of Anahola.
Internment will take place in Saratoga, Calif. on Tuesday, July 22. She was grateful to all of her friends on Kaua‘i that made her feel like family and hoped they would keep the music going, according to her daughter Valerie.
