Leahi Soccer Club to hold clinic
The Leahi Soccer Club from O‘ahu will hold a free clinic at the mauka end of the North Vidinha soccer field on July 19.
The first half of the clinic will be held from 9:30 a.m. to noon and this will be for girls ages 7-12.
The second half will be held from 2-4:30 p.m. for girls ages 13-19.
All girls on the island are invited to attend.
All girls are asked to bring proper soccer equipment (soccer shoes, shin guards), a ball, and water.
The clinic will be presented by the Leahi Soccer Club of O‘ahu as a free service to the community of Kaua‘i.
There will be six coaches from Leahi who will work with the girls on field and goalie play.
One of the coach’s will be Michelle Nagamine, girl’s varsity soccer coach at Kamehameha High School and former player at Santa Clara University.
The other five coaches are Myrissa Olanda from Hawaii Pacific University, Shellie Silva from the University of San Francisco, Missy Moore and Amanda Paterson from UH and Hilary Okumura from Creighton University.
The coaches will also be talking to the kids about using soccer as a means to help further their education and preparation for college.

Polo Club to host event
Following the Corporate Sponsor Day Tournament, there will be a Polo Clinic, Silent Auction, Music and Dinner. You may purchase your tickets on Sunday at the Anini Polo Field.
Tickets will also be available at various locations on the island via our “Sponsors”. The Club would also like to extend a “Big Mahalo” to our “Sponsors” for their generous donations towards our fundraiser.
Esposo earns top award
Turn out for Sunday’s R/C Racing was good and the racers gave it all they got.
The track was bumpy and dusty but that’s what off-road is all about. Wendell Esposo was the top qualifier of the day.
On the Nitro Truck A Division everyone was racing hard to accumulate points and Dennis Morales done just that to secure the win. Twelve year old Seth Morales the only kid racer that day raced hard against some tough competition on the Nitro Truck B Division stayed consistent and secure the win. The same goes for Roy Higa on the Nitro Truck Division.
He was very determine to win and drove his Nitro Truck hard to do just that.
