Gary Siracusa of the Rotary Club of Hanalei Bay was inducted Thursday as the Rotary International District Governor for District 5000 at a meeting at the Princeville Hotel.
District 5000 includes all the Rotary Clubs in Hawaii.
Visting from Oahu for the occasion were 2002-2003 District 5000 Governor Bob Pennington, 2004-2005 District Governor-Elect Claude Thompson and 2005-2006 District Governor-Nominee Roz Cooper.
Siracusa is only the second District Governor for District 5000 from Kauai over the past 46 years.
In addition to the honor of being the home club of the District Governor, the Rotary Club of Hanalei Bay is also celebrating its 10th anniversary this weekend.
