KALAHEO — The Westside Hornets boys 16 and under community basketball team earned a 45-42 win over the Lihue Five O’s on Friday night in the consolation bracket of the sixth annual Kauai Invitational tournament.
In the championship bracket, the Kona Tigers edged the Kauai Hot sauce 52-49 with Jeremy Manuel scoring 15 points for Kauai.
The Kaimuki NJB beat the Makakilo Knights 56-42 in the other championship-bracket contest.
Kaimuki then went on to claim the overall title with a 52-46 win over Kona on Saturday.
The Hot Sauce took third place after a 64-48 win over the Knights.
Futi Tavana scored 18 points for the Hot Sauce. The Hornets claimed the consolation bracket title with a 57-56 win over the Puuloa Bandits.
Chad Barba scored 17 points for Westside.
