Ronald Masato Cardinez of Corona, Calif. and formerly of Placentia, Calif., died May 11, 2003, of complications from heart disease at the age of 54.
A computer analyst for Boeing, he is survived by his mother, Mitsue Estrada; daughter, Nikole Kiana Castillo; son, Clinton Keoki Cardinez; brothers, Clarence, Michael, Steven, Alex, Manolo and James; sisters, Frances, Carol, Lydia, Alicia, Celia-Marie and Nelda; grandchildren, Tiffani, Brandon, Brody and Case and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 14, at 4 p.m. at Kaumakani Ball Park.
Bryan Maglinti
Bryan Wilhelm Maglinti of Kapaa, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on June 9, 2003, at the age of 45.
Born in Lihue on September 25, 1957, he was self employed in construction and graphic artwork.
He is survived by his parents; Alex Maglinti Sr. and Anna Seabury Maglinti of Kapaa; four brothers, Darell Maglinti of Honolulu, Alex (Jin) Maglinti, Jr., of California, Andy (Michele) Maglinti of Kapahi, Carlan Maglinti of Kapaa; sister, Nolia Fernandes of Hanamaulu, numerous nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, June 13, at St. Catherine’s Church in Kapaa from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. where mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. by Father Vincent. Aloha attire is suggested and flowers omitted.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Jay Taylor
Jay Anthony Taylor of Lihue, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital May 18, 2003, at the age of 63. Born in Honolulu on October 1, 1939.
He is survived by his daughter, Shannon Taylor of California.
Private services were held. Arrangements by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Fred Eiland Jr.
Fred Eiland Jr. died June 9, 2003, on Kauai, at the age of 46.
Born May 18, 1957, in Detroit to the late Fred Eiland Sr. and Mary Louise Horne Eiland, he attended Detroit Public Schools and was a graduate of Northwestern High School. He also attended Northern Michigan University, where he studied Electrical Engineering.
He had a love for music and pursued it all of his life, playing bass and lead guitar with several bands. He was also an avid sportsman and especially enjoyed skating, swimming and baseball. His sense of adventure led him to Canada, California and Hawaii, his adopted home. His practical jokes always caught friends and family by surprise and made them laugh.
He met Rose Corpuz while working for Western Electric in Los Angeles, Calif. They moved to Kauai where they were married and raised three sons.
He is survived by four sons: LaRae Tyree Eiland, Fred Eiland III, Robin TaSean Fredrico Eiland and Dillon Taylor Eiland; his mother Mary Louise Eiland; one brother Gregory (Teria) Horne; two sisters Deborah Ann Eiland and Phyllis Marie (Curtiss) Whitaker; one niece; several nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Friends may visit with the family at 9 a.m. Friday, June 13, at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary. Memorial services begins at 10 a.m. Aloha attire is suggested.
