Kauai police have investigated public complaints about errant golf balls hitting homes on Wailana Road in Wailua Houselots.
A resident living on the road said he and a handful of neighbors were concerned they and others, including pedestrians, could suffer fatal or serious injuries if they are hit by the balls.
“My wife doesn’t want to go out into the yard because she is afraid,” said the resident, who asked not to be identified. “This is a safety issue.”
The resident also said balls have hit the roof of his home numerous times, and one ball hit the side of his home, causing damage. The most recent incident occurred May 16, he said.
“My neighbor’s house got hit plenty of times,” the resident said.
Police officers have patrolled the neighborhood since the resident filed his complaints.
