Remy Rea has joined Kauai Mortgage Co., Inc. as executive loan officer, announced Richard Garland, owner and mortgage broker.

She is a Wailua resident, and holds a degree from Kauai Community College. Rea comes to Kauai Mortgage after 18 years with Bank of Hawaii. During her Bankoh career, she was honored with numerous production awards, and demonstrated a strong commitment to outstanding customer service.
For the past three years she served as branch sales manager. A “soccer mom,” Rea is active in the sports community, with her 12-year-old son and 15-year-old daughter.
“We are very fortunate to have someone with her knowledge and experience join our company,” Garland said. “She will bring a new level of customer service to the mortgage profession, with her background in banking, real estate and consumer finance.”
Kauai Mortgage Co., Inc. is a seven-year-old company with headquarters in the East Kauai Professional Building on Kuhio Highway in Kapaa.
“The Lihue office was opened to complement the Kapaa location and provide service and convenience to customers from all parts of the island,” Garland continued.
The company arranges mortgage loans for the purchase and refinance of residential real estate, land and construction.
Garland said he is surprised at the current low level of interest rates, which has fueled the current refinancing boom. The low rates have made homes more affordable even though prices are on the increase, he added.
“Our rates are always very competitive, because as mortgage brokers we have so many lenders to choose from. Also, we have been very successful in obtaining financing for those who do not strictly meet bank guidelines,” he said.
