Isidoro Bacio
Isidoro “Edot” Bacio of Makaweli, died at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital on May 7, 2003 at the age of 86.
Born in Kauai on Sept. 8, 1917, he was a Heavy Equipment Operator with Gay & Robinson Sugar.
He is survived by sons, Pedro (Amancia) Bacio of Waimea, Fredrick (Elizabeth) Bacio of Makaweli and Kurt Bacio of Makaweli; daughters, Josephine Brede of Anahola, Annette (Bert) Moriguchi of O’ahu and Geraldine (Bill) Fernendez of O’ahu; 28 grandchildren 47 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at 9 a.m. on Friday, May 16, at the Kekaha Westside Christian Center; service officiated by Pastor Sammy Set will begin at 11 a.m. Followed by burial at Kauai Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Nicolas Acain
Nicolas P. Acain Sr. of Hanama’ulu, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on May 8, 2003, at the age of 92.
Born in the Philippines, on Sept. 10, 1910, he was a retired truck driver for Lihu’e Plantation and also worked at Smith’s Tropical Paradise.
He is survived by his wife, Carmen Acain of Hanama’ulu; three sons: Rudy Acain of Wahiawa, Nicolas Acain Jr., of Kapa’a, Michael Acain of California; four daughters, Ilona (Dwight) Robinson of North Carolina, Elena (Kenneth) Gongob of Wahiawa, Josephine Acain-Sanchez of Puhi and Marilyn (Gavin) Peralta of Puhi. One brother and four sisters of the Philippines, 14 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, May 15, at Immaculate Conception Church from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. where mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. by Father Paul. Burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens. Casual attire is suggested.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Alexandria-Nichole Rita
Infant Alexandria-Nichole Lahilahi Ku’upuaaloalo Pulelehua Kuhaulua Rita died on April 28, 2003.
She is survived by her parents Leonard Jr. and Abilynn (Kuhaulua) Rita of Anahola; two sisters, Audrey Kuhaulua of Anahola and Kaprice Rita of Kalaheo; four brothers, Lanakila and Luke of Anahola, Leonard III and Wayne of Kalaheo; paternal grandparents, Dorothy Rita of Kalaheo and Leonard Rita Sr. of California; paternal great-grandfather, Jose Medeiros of Lawa’i, sponsors: Steve and Bonnie Bojorques of Wailua, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends and her extended Ohana at Kapa’a First Hawaiian Church, Kanuikapono Charter School and Ke Kula Kaiapuni O Kapa’a.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, May 17, 3 p.m. at the Kapa’a First Hawaiian Church.

A one year memorial service will be held for Dorothy “Dotty” Kuulei Mawae (Lathouse) on May 24, 1 p.m. at the Kapa’a Neighborhood Center. Scattering of her ashes to follow at Ahukini Bay.
