WAILUA — As the summer starts and the heat sets in, the races at the Wailua motocross track begin.
The members of the Kaua’i Motocross Racing Association put in yet another installment of high adrenaline racing this past weekend and none were left disappointed.
The main story of note, no one was seriously injured on Sunday, is quite a feat regarding the fact that racers push themselves to the absolute limit of human ability.
The day began with the minis on their own track located behind the main strip.
The noticeable change that has been observed is the fact that the mini class has been growing in numbers, and the biggest change has been the growing powder puff mini class which consists of little women trying to make a name for themselves in racing.
More keikis, girls and boys alike, are encouraged to participate in racing on their own track designed especially for their size and skill level.
As many will attest, there is nothing like watching a young racer at the beginning of his or her lifetime of racing experiences.
The big bikes were also a sight to behold.
With a newly formatted track that is said to be longer and more technical, the participants of this past Sunday had their work cut out for them. Another positive attribute about the new track design is the ability to view more of the track from the spectators perspective outside the fence.
With these new elements all you have to do is add a few KMRA racers for an entertaining display of talent and friendly rivalry.
There are many more races planned for this year, but the main event to watch out for is the next KMRA Mud-Out planned to commence in June. Everyone at KMRA hopes fans will come down to enjoy an adrenaline filled Sunday afternoon at the Wailua motocross track.
