Felipe Fernandez Tabangcura, of ‘Ele’ele, died on April 17, 2003 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital, at the age of 75.
Born in the Philippines on Sept. 13, 1927, he was an irrigation engineer.
He is survived by his wife, Estelita Tabangcura of ‘Ele’ele, daughter, Estela Derr of Aiea; son, Philip Tabangcura of Walnut Creek, CA; brother, Stan Tabangcura of Tacoma, WA; sisters, Mely Buschkonig of West Germany, Delelis Tabangcura of Philippines; granddaughter, Mattea Derr of Aiea, numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, April 26, at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. where services will be celebrated at 11 a.m. by Father Keahi. Burial to follow at the Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe. Casual/aloha attire is requested.

Virginia Eileen May of Lihu’e, Kaua’i, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Apr. 24, 2003, at the age of 83.
Born in Marion, Ohio on Dec. 19, 1919, she was a loving wife and mother, as well as a devoted grandma and great-grandma. She is survived by daughters, Sharon (Patrick) Cerrina of La Habra, CA. and Kim (Gary) Tulypan of Wildomar, CA.; grand-daughter, Laleinia (Johnny) Riskus of Kapaa; four great-grandchildren, Clinton, Chason, Choltan and Alexa Riskus. Friends may visit with the family at 2 p.m. on Sat. Apr. 26, at the Kapaa Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness; service officiated by Brother Tony Divan will begin at 3 p.m. Aloha attire is suggested.

Tatsuo Nishi
Tatsuo Nishi of Hanapepe died at home on Apr. 24, 2003, at the age of 64.
Born in Waimea, Kauai on Mar. 9, 1939, he was an inspector with the state Department of Land & Natural Resources.
He is survived by wife, Elsie; sons, Nikola (Claudia) Nishi of Waimea, Pete Nishi of Hanapepe, Matthew (Cathy) Iwatate of Mississippi and Richard Iwatate of Makaweli; daughters, Ama Nishi of Honolulu, Donna (Mark) Richards of Hanapepe and Marcella Kaita of Las Vegas; 16 grandchildren; step-father, Katoru Kaneko of Waimea; sisters, Lena (Wes) Tanaka of Honolulu, Kiyomi Berry of Waimea, Michie (Noboru) Munechika of Lihue and Gail Kaneko of Honolulu; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
