Shigeko Ishibashi formerly of Makaweli, died on Feb. 24, 2003 at Kuakini Care Center, at the age of 88.
Born in Wahiawa, on June 21, 1915, she was a retired Postmaster of the Makaweli Post Office.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Shigeru “Jack” Ishibashi. She is survived by daughters: Elizabeth (Jim) Takishita of Pearl City, Jean (Daniel) Chapp of Hanapepe, Linda (LJ) Kutten of Reno, Nevada, Janice (Ken) Sandusky of Springfield, Oregon; son, David (Jan) Ishibashi of Kalaheo; sisters, Kuniko Ishibashi of Kalaheo and Harumi Nagata of Kalaheo; brother, Yoshito Oyama of Honolulu, 8 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, April 25, at the Waimea Higashi Hongwanji in Waimea where a memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. by Reverend Fujimoro and Reverend Suzuki.

Paul Hukiku Brede Sr. of Anahola, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on April 11, 2003 at the age of 61.
Born in Hanama’ulu, on Feb. 1, 1942, he was a mechanic with Grayline Hawai’i.
He is survived by wife, Josephine; four sons, Paul H. (Clorinda) Brede, Jr. of Anahola, Clyde H. (Kathy) Brede of Kapa’a, Scott K. (Cheryl) Brede of Wailua and Preston K. Brede of Anahola; daughter, Jolyn P. (Joseph) Borden of Anahola; two brothers, William (Julliette) Brede, Jr. of Anahola and Wayson Lono (Lavern) Brede of Anahola; two sisters, Mary (Benjamin) Aranio of Oma’o and Hazel (William) Aki of Anahola. 10 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild.
Friends may visit with the family at 10 a.m. on Tuesday April 22, at the Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Kapa’a Ward; service officiated by Bishop Kevin Cram will begin at 12 noon. Followed by burial at Kauai Memorial Gardens. Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
