Geneviva Macabeo of Kapa’a, died at the Queen’s Medical Center, on April 9, 2003, at the age of 70.
Born in Ewa Beach, Honolulu, on Jan. 3, 1933, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by three sons, Renaldo Macabeo of Puhi, Steven Macabeo of Kapa’a, Donald Macabeo of California; two daughters, Tessie Blume of Kapa’a, Gloria Macabeo of Kapa’a; two brothers, Frank Kapuy of California, Jerry Kapuy of California; caregiver for many years, Jerome Freitas of Kapa’a, 4 grandsons, 1 granddaughter, numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, April 16, at St. Catherine’s Church in Kapa’a from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. where Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. by Father Bruce. Burial to follow at Kaua’i Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.

Born and raised on Kaua’i, she is survived by mother, Helen L. Young; six brothers, John Howard (Blossom) Young of Kekaha, David (Alvina) Young of O’ahu, Melvin Young of Arizona, Mervin (Nancy) Young of Utah, Clinton (Dawn) Young of Georgia and Rodney (Doreen) Young of Brydeswood; four sisters, Lauretta (George) Kaukani of Oahu, Jennifer (Robert) Cook of Alabama, Haunani (Harrom) Kaili of Washington and Patricia “Lei” Young of Numila.
Friends may visit with the family at 10 a.m. on Monday, Apr. 21, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Kalaheo; service to begin at 1 p.m. followed by burial at Hawaiian Cemetery in Hanapepe. Casual attire is suggested.
