Part-time Kaua’i resident Yvonne Jarvis-Ungerecht, died March 15, 2003, at her home in Anchorage, AK the day after her 50th birthday after a long courageous battle with cancer.
A self-taught holistic healer, she moved to Alaska with her family in 1965. She was the head of the neighborhood crime watch on her block and loved to spend time at her other home in Kapa’a where she grew several gardens and sewed. Her motto was to “give all the love, care and peace and understanding one can give.”
She is survived by her mother, Terry Jarvis of Kingman, AZ., husband Larry Ungerecht, daughter and son Stormie Eddie and Justin Dam, stepdaughter and stepson Jennifer Ungerecht and James Ungerecht, four grandchildren ; brother Rick Jarvis, sister Rebecca Kimball, brother-in-law Dave Kimball, all of Anchorage; sister Gloria Selberg of San Diego and several nieces and nephews. Her ashes will be spread in her gardens in Alaska and Hawai’i and Monterey, Calif.
