The Red Raiders continued their successful 2003 KIF tennis run with a sweep of Kapa’a on Saturday at the Kiahuna Courts.
In boy action, Kaua’i beat the Warriors 5-0 with Eddy Kane posting a 6-1, 6-0 win over Kapa’a’s Justin Nagai.
Jordan Kukino of the Red Raiders defeated Andrew Walpole of Kapa’a 6-2, 6-1.
In No. 1 doubles, Kaua’i’s team of Chad Naganuma and Chris Colacino earned a 7-5, 6-1 win.
In girls action, the Red Raiders edged Kapa’a 3-2. Kapa’a swept all three doubles matches.
Jaclyn Filippe and Nicollete Cuaresma beat Kaua’i’s Shannon Bulloch and Titiana Zina 7-6, 6-4.
Alex Sirois of Kaua’i defeated Kapa’a’s Shawna Tamayose 6-0, 6-1.
The Red Raiders’ Asami Takaya came away with a 6-3, 6-1 victory over the Warriors’ Ashley Valvieja.
In No. 3 doubles, Kaua’i’s Nikki Matsumura earned a 6-7 (4), 6-2, 7-6 (5) win.
The Red Raiders continue KIF play on Saturday at the Kiahuna Courts against Island School while Kapa’a faces Kula on April 19. Both matches begin at noon.
