Hisae T. Minatoya of Lihu’e died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on March 19, 2003 at the age of 76.
Born in Japan on March 23, 1926, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by husband Yasuo; son, Richard (Setsuko) Minatoya of Maui; two brothers, Yoshio (Mariko) Tatsumoto of Japan and Mitsuo Tatsumoto of Japan; sister, Shigeko (Toshio) Tsuchida of Japan, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Services were private

Shigeko Wada
Shigeko Wada of Oma’o died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Mar. 15, 2003, at the age of 85.
Born in Kukui’ula, Kaua’i, on June 4, 1917, she was a retired Teacher with a private school.
She is survived by a brother, Fukuo Kinoshita of California; two sisters, Okisa Yamaguchi and Gladys (Yasuo) Nakamatsu both of Kaua’i, numerous nieces and nephews. Private services were held.

Yuichi Shimabukuro
Yuichi “Bugsy” Shimabukuro of Wailua died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on March 29, 2003, at the age of 70.
Born in Waimea on Feb. 20, 1933, he was an Engineer with GTE Hawaiian Tel.
He is survived by wife, Hiroye; son, Sterlyn (Nancy) Shimabukuro of Kapa’a; two daughters, Wendy (Ernest) Gonsalves of Kapa’a, and Denise Shimabukuro of Honolulu; three sisters, Masako Awakuni of Honolulu, Yoshiko Shimabukuro of Honolulu and Kimie Apaka of Lihu’e; 4 grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2003 at the Kaua’i Veterans Cemetery Pavilion. Service officiated by Rev. Edwin Terui will begin at 10 a.m. Followed by interment. Casual attire is suggested and flowers omitted. Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
