Regatta takes place April 26 — LIHUE – The Kauai Marriott Resort and Beach Club is offering kamaaina the “Kauai World Challenge Package” in celebration of the inaugural Steinlager Kauai World Challenge.
This regatta event takes place April 26 and features the largest purse ever for a Hawaii canoe race.
“The Kauai World Challenge Package” includes Deluxe Pool/Ocean View accommodations overlooking beautiful Kalapaki Beach; a hotel logo mug welcome amenity ($20 value) upon arrival good for unlimited refills of coffee and soft drinks at Aupaka Terrance and Kalapaki Grill for the duration of the stay; and a Mahalo Card offering guests a 10 percent discount in all hotel restaurants (including room service) and select hotel shops and boutiques.
The price of the package is $215 per night based on double occupancy, excluding tax and gratuity, and is available April 15 through June 30.
A three-night minimum stay is required.
The package is also 10 percent commissionable to travel agents for materialized bookings.
The Steinlager Kauai World Challenge features paddlers from around the world competing for $20,000 in prize money.
The 34-mile relay race along the Island’s east to west shores begins at Wailua Beach with changes at Hanamaulu Beach, Kalapaki Beach (home of the Kauai Marriott), Poipu Beach and finishes at Salt Pond Beach Park with a ceremony awarding the winners.
More than 50 one-and two-man canoe teams from Hawaii, California, Australia, Rarotonga and other countries will compete head-to-head in Kauai’s challenging ocean conditions.
