Based on her earlier results, Kapa’a High’s Jackie Huttger has qualified for the Hawaii state meet in both the triple (33 feet, four inches) and high jump (4-9) events.
Huttger qualified for these two events in the opening KIF practice track and field meet held at Vidinha Stadium on March 7.
Other athletes that have qualified for the state meet, based on initial qualifying times, are the Kapa’a A 400-meter relay team (54.43 seconds), Rachel Martin of Waimea in the 3000 run (12:16.30) and Cale Forsen of Kapa’a in the boys high jump (6-2).
In the March 14 practice meet, Jessica Jacinto of Waimea qualified for the state meet in both the girls 300 low hurdles (52.18) and triple jump (32-2).
In addition to Jacinto, Waimea’s A girls 400 relay team (54.87), Elizabeth Kain of Kapa’a in the 100 (13.09), Virginia Aguilar of Waimea in the shot put (30 feet), Huttger in the long jump (15-5), Jonathan Arakaki of Kaua’i in both the boys 110 hurdles (15.65) and triple jump (41-4) and Justin Arakaki of the Red Raiders in the 110 hurdles (16.29) have also qualified for the state meet.
