One victim of the head-on collision that occurred Friday at about 10 p.m. at the Wailua Bridge has been released from Wilcox Hospital.
The woman was released pending further investigation for driving under the influence of drugs and negligent injury. Two teen-agers were detained for having an open container and driving without a license, according to police records.
The 34-year-old Hanama’ulu woman drove a van that crossed the center line, causing the crash, police said. She was brought to the hospital. The two occupants of the sedan also received care. Neither police nor the hospital spokesperson could comment on the nature of injuries, or who was released from care.
Traffic Safety Lieutenant Scott Yagihara noted that drug test will take a while to complete, and that the results will be sealed if criminal charges are filed.
