A 21-year-old ‘Ele’ele woman is recovering from serious upper body injuries at Queen’s Medical Center on O’ahu following a one-car accident on Kaumuali’i Highway in O’mao Tuesday afternoon.
The woman suffered unspecified injuries in the accident, reported at 12:23 p.m., and was medivaced to the O’ahu hospital in serious condition.
The woman, whose identity was not known, reportedly was driving westbound when she lost control of her vehicle by the eight-mile marker on the state road and ran into a guardrail.
Kaua’i police said she was the only occupant in the four-door sedan. The cause of the accident was being investigated.
The woman was initially sent to Wilcox Hospital, where a CAT-scan was performed. The results were not known.
