Frances Ferrara
Frances Ferrara of Kalaheo, died at her residence on Feb. 19, 2003 at the age of 83.
Born in Kaua’i on Feb. 5, 1920, she was a custodian for Holy Cross School and Church.
She is survived by three sons: Andrew (Linda) Ferrara of Lihu’e, Voss (Jane) Fernandes of New York, Patrick (Patricia) Ferrara, Sr., of Kalaheo; two sisters: Eva Winser of San Antonio, Texas and Marie Conte of Winter Springs, Florida; grandchildren: Lisa Dela Cruz, Jordan & Nani Fernandes, Julie Ferrara-Jones, Fran Basuel, PJ Ferrara and Marla Davis, great-grandchildren: Ciara Wainwright, Brennan & Sydnee Ferrara, Braiden Dela Cruz and Kahanu Davis.
Friends may visit with the family on Monday, Feb. 24, at 1 p.m. – 2:45 p.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, where mass be will celebrated at 3 p.m. by Father Keahi. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Church Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Wilfred “Bunt” Baldwin
Wilfred “Bunt” Baldwin of Koloa, died Feb. 18, 2003 at the age of 89.
Born in Pasadena, California on June 30, 1913, he was manager for Lihu’e & Kekaha Sugar Mill. Assistant Manager at Pioneer Mill Sugar Plantations.
He is survived by his wife, Anne Baldwin of Koloa; son, Peter (Linda) Baldwin of Koloa; two daughters, Celie (Greg) Williams of Koloa, Mary Agnes Baldwin of Honolulu, 5 grandchildren, Jenni, Kelly, Mark, Lianne and Bruce, numerous nieces and nephews.
In celebrating his life there will be a gathering of Friends on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 5 p.m. at the family residence: 5451 Wailaau Rd., Koloa. Casual attire is suggested and flowers omitted.
Donations may be made to the Rotary Foundation or Wilcox Hospital Foundation in his memory.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Earl Phillips, Sr.
Earl Stanley Phillips, Sr., of Wainiha Powerhouse Road, Kaua’i, died Feb. 3, 2003 at Tripler Army Medical Center.
Born in Honolulu on Nov. 30, 1935, he was a retired Master Sergeant with the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife: Henrietta; sons, Earl S. Jr., Don C., Dan “Bo” E., and Jon J.; daughter, Erlette Smith; sisters: Audrey Perreira, Helen Haa, and Ida Abaire, 17 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at St. William’s Catholic Church in Hanalei at 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 22, with Father Vincent Curtain (SM) officiating. Visitation for family and friends will begin at 9:30 a.m.
