Born in Hawaii on July 1, 1925. He was a heavy equipment operator for the County of Kaua’i,
He is preceded in death by his wife: Helen C. Soares and son: Harry “Bully” Soares, Jr.
He is survived by daughters: Stephanie Silva of Kalaheo and Brenda (Ernest) Silva, Jr. of Kalaheo, son: Wayne (Renee) Soares of Honolulu, Jessie (Pernala) Soares of Kalaheo and daughter-in-law: Iwalani Kanoho Soares of Lihu’e.
Also surviving are brothers: Joseph Soares of Kalaheo and Manuel Soares of Honolulu, and sisters-in-law: Josie Ching of Honolulu, Nancy Soares of Kalaheo and Tove Soares. There are 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday, Jan. 22, at Holy Cross Church from 9:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. where memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. by Fr. Keahi. Inurnment will follow at Kaua’i Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe.

Stephen Ray Adams of Kapa’a, HI and formerly of Ridgecrest, Calif., died at his home after a lengthy illness on Jan. 17, 2003, at the age of 53.
Born in Pomona, Calif., on May 17, 1949, he was a self-employed carpenter and craftsman. Throughout his life he found great pleasure in all aspects of fun from motorcycles to stock cars to shore fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Jana “Chicki” Adams of Kapa’a; sons, Will Hunt, Eddie Adams and Jesse Adams of Kapa’a; daughters, Kara Hunt of Kapaa, Olivia Whisnant and Guinivere Comacho of Ridgecrest, Calif.
He is also survived by his mother, Eva McDonald of Ridgecrest, Calif.; brothers, Dale Adams of Inyokern, Calif., and David McDonald of Ridgecrest, Calif.; sisters, Joretta Adams, Joyce Collins and Julia Adams of Ridgecrest, Calif. and Alta Schaufelberger of Bakersfield, Calif.; nine grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cremation and a Celebration of Life to be arranged. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary. Borthwick Kaua’i Mortuary.
