The winner of the January 4 election will fill the full, two-year term of the late Congresswoman Patsy Mink who died of viral pneumonia on September 28. Her death came too late for election officials to remove her name from the general election ballot. Voters elected Mink posthumously on November 5. Ed Case, a former state representative, won a special election on November 30 that allowed him to complete the remaining weeks of Mink’s current term.
