Sakae Watanabe, Takeshi Furutani, Moses Victorino
Sakae Watanabe
Sakae “Maggie” Watanabe of Kapaa, Kauai, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital, on Dec. 21, 2002, at the age of 83.
Born in Kealia, Kauai on Sept. 25, 1919, he was a automotive mechanic with Datsun of Kauai and also with the 100th Battalion Infantry with the United States Army.
He is survived by his son: Dennis (Gale) Watanabe of Honolulu; two daughters: Gail (Paul) Sakamoto of Westminister, CA., and Beverly (Alan) Fujisawa of Honolulu; three brothers: Chozo (Yasuko) Watanabe of Kapaa, Kauai, Haruo (Dolores) Watanabe of Kapaa, Kauai, and Shigeo (Lynda) Watanabe of Gardena, CA; sister: Katherine Watanabe of Hanamaulu, 6 grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 4, at the All Saints Church in Kapaa. Services will be officiated by Bishop Richard S.O. Chang. Casual attire is suggested and that flowers be omitted.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Takeshi Furutani
Takeshi “Punchy” Furutani of Makaweli, Kauai, died at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital on Dec. 26, 2002, at the age of 92.
Born in Makaweli, Kauai on May 20, 1910 he was a retired Supervisor with Gay & Robinson Plantation. He is survived by his wife: Matsue of Makaweli; two sons: Henry (Rachel) Furutani of Lihue, Carl (Laurie) Furutani of Kaneohe, Oahu; daughter: Edith (Hamid) Shams of New Jersey; two brothers: Takeo Furutani, Michinori “Aiko” Furutani both of Oahu; 6 grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Jan. 3, 2003, from 3 p.m. at the Waimea Honpa Hongwanji. Services to be performed by Rev. Hozan J. Hardiman at 4 p.m. Interment will be private. Casual attire is suggested and flowers omitted.

Moses Victorino
Moses Bernard Victorino of Hanalei, Kauai, died at Straub Hospital, on Dec. 12, 2002, at the age of 75.
Born in Kapaa, Kauai, on April 11, 1927, he was a former caretaker of Hanalei Land Company.
He is survived by two brothers: Joseph Victorino, Sr., of Kapaa, Louis (Margaret) Victorino of Kapaa, three sisters: Thelma Lopez of Kapaa, Alma Soares of Kapaa, Marie (Howard) Rosa of Hanamaulu, numerous nieces, and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family for a graveside service on Thursday, Jan. 2, 11 a.m. at the Veterans Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.
