HILO – The Waimea Menehune girls volleyball team won the Kaua’i Interscholastic Federation championship this year, which can mean only one thing: Road trip!
The Menehune are in Hilo today to face Moanalua in the first round of the Nissan Girls State Volleyball Championship at the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium.
The game is slated for 5 p.m.
If Waimea wins today, they will advance to the winners bracket, which is a matchup against St. Joseph Thursday at 8 p.m. If they lose, they will face the loser of Iolani and Kalaheo for a spot in the consolation bracket Thursday.
Other games today: Iolani vs. Kalaheo at 3:30 p.m., Kealakehe vs. Pearl City at 6:30 p.m., and Hawaii Prep vs. Maui at 8 p.m.
