Kaua’i McDonald’s restaurants join 30,000 others in 121 countries in a fundraiser for the Ronald McDonald House Charities where $1 will be donated from selected sandwich items.
Today is World Children’s Day, marking the first simultaneous worldwide fundraiser for Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). One dollar from each Big Mac, Egg McMuffin, Big Mac and Egg McMuffin Extra Value Meal, Happy Meal and Mighty Kids Meal will benefit RMHC. McDonald’s will also offer a limited-edition Ronald McDonald Happy Meal toy with a commemorative tag.
Hawaii-based Olympians, athletes, Miss Hawaii and other celebrities are set to volunteer in restaurants statewide serving up burgers to help the cause.
Since Hawaii’s Ronald McDonald House opened its doors in 1987, about 20,000 children and families from Hawaii and the Pacific have been assisted with health partnerships and housing during medical care. RMHC grants also help develop community programs for Hawaii children like educational programs, safety and preventing child abuse.
