This week, catch Friday’s KIF finale between Kaua’i and Kapa’a. Next week, Channel 6 will replay last year’s HHSAA quarterfinal game between Castle and Waimea.
Coaches workshop for Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii
There will be a coaches workshop Friday, November 15, from 6:30p.m. -8:30 p.m. for all coaches and interested coaches (even if the sport isn’t currently in season) involved with the Boys and Girls Club of Hawaii.
The workshop, which will take place at the Kaua’i County Building, Moikeha Building Conference Room, will charge a $5 materials fee for each participant. Mail form/fee to Boys and Girls Club of Hawaii, Waimea Clubhouse, PO Box 984, Waimea, Hawaii, 96796. You also may drop off form/fee at Kapa’a Clubhouse (make checks payable to the Boys and Girls Club of Hawaii.

Deadline in Nov. 20 for entry to Kaua’i Senior Golf Club’s final tournament of the year
The last tournament of the year for the Kaua’i Seniors Golf Club is coming soon and it’s time to register. The tournament will take place Saturday, Nov. 30. Golfers who wish to participate must send in their entry forms before Nov. 20. Entry forms can be obtained at the Wailua Golf Course.
Following the tournament, a membership meeting will be held to approve proposed amendments to the club’s Constitution and By-Laws. (The Board-approved proposed amendments are now posted on the Wailua bulletin board for members to review prior to the meeting.
Junior Golf clinics at Puakea and Kaua’i Lagoons
Puakea started its clinics for junior golfers Wednesday, and will continue to offer instruction for the next three weeks.
Clinics are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday each week from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Cost is $25 for three one-hour classes. Please call the Pro Shop at 245-8756 to register.
There will also be lessons offered at the Kaua’i Lagoons Golf Course. Classes start Thursday, Nov. 14 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. and will run for four weeks. The charge is $30 per class. Please call Kaua’i Lagoons Pro Shop at 241-6000.
Kilauea Gym will be closed for renovation
The Kilauea Gym will be closed from Nov. 18 through Dec. 1. The gym floor is to be revarnished.

Boys & Girls Club in Waimea holds registration for basketball and volleyball leagues
The Boys and Girls Club of Hawaii – Waimea Clubhouse – is currently accepting registration for its 2002-2003 Boys Volleyball League.
The League consists of boys 17-under, 14-under, and 12-under age groups. Registration begins Nov. 5 and ends Dec. 20. Sign up at the Boys and Girls Club of Hawaii in Waimea.
Also, the Club will be offering a basketball league for age groups of 16-under, 14-under and 12-under. Ages 14-under should sign up between Nov. 5 and Nov. 14. Ages 12-under should sign up between Nov. 5 and Dec. 12. Ages 16-under should sign up between Nov. 5 and Jan. 9.

HSF to hold contest #2 at Polihale Beach Park
The Hawaiian Surfing Federation will be holding its second contest of the season at Polihale Beach Park Nov. 16-17, with alternate dates from Nov. 23-24.
The contest will include Bodyboarding and Surfing divisions. Bodyboarding divisions include 14-under, 15-17, 18-over and Drop Knee Open.
Surfing divisions include 11-under, 12-14, 15-17, 18-24 and 4-A Men’s Open.
There will also be a girl’s bracket for ages 17-under.
Start time is 8 a.m., starting with bodyboarding. Surfing check-in is 9:45 a.m.
