“Dine Out for Democracy,” a fund-raiser for Kids Voting Hawaii, was held a bit later on Kaua’i than at other establishments around the state, and on this island was strictly a North Shore Affair.
The night when five North Shore restaurants donated portions of receipts to the youth voting and education initiative was Tuesday, Oct. 29, and the participating Kaua’i eateries raised $500, said Steve Whitney, a farmer and chair of the Rotary Club of Hanalei Bay’s New Generations Committee.
The participating restaurants were Chuck’s Steak House and Bourbon Street Cafe in Princeville Shopping Center, and Zelo’s Beach House, Sushi Blues and Polynesia Cafe in Hanalei town.
