Carol Curran, who has a track record of success both professionally and as a Mainland and Kaua’i volunteer, has been named development officer at the Kauai United Way.
At Kauai United Way, her responsibilities include special programs and events, development programs, major gift fund-raising, and public relations.
Curran is a San Francisco native who holds a master’s degree in business administration. In California’s Silicon Valley, she enjoyed professional success as a writer, in commercial real estate, economic development, television production, fund-raising and event coordination.
With a life-long history of community volunteerism, with Special Olympics, homeless shelters, music and the other arts, and other community needs, Curran moved to Kaua’i permanently last year.
She was named Kauai Hospice Volunteer of the Year last year. When not working, Curran enjoys gardening, and playing with her two dogs: Christie Beagle and Freddie Lhasa Apso.
