The Kauai Police Department and Crime Stoppers program are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing teen-age girl, and for any information about an alleged sexual assault in the Waipouli area, in unrelated cases.
Starsha Silva, 16, is considered a missing person, and was last seen at Eleele Shopping Center at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23.
She may be in the company of a Filipino man, 43, possibly in the Koloa or Lawa’i area, according to police.
She or the companion might be driving a 1984 white Volkswagen, four-door sedan, with license plate number KSA 632.
Silva is described as 5 feet, seven inches tall, 130 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes, with tan complexion. She is of Portuguese descent, medium build, with a tattoo, -Jx, on her back.
Police are also looking for a Caucasian male, between the ages of 40 and 50, approximately five feet, 10 inches tall to six feet tall, and weighing around 200 pounds.
He is wanted for questioning regarding an alleged sexual assault on a young child in or near the public restroom of the Kauai Village shopping center on Friday, Sept. 20, at around 5:30 p.m.
The suspect has short blonde or gray hair, and was wearing square-framed glasses at the time of the incident. He may have a light beard or mustache.
He was wearing black shorts, black tank-top T-shirt, and a black necklace, possibly with a fishhook pendant. The suspect fled the scene on foot.
