The 2002 Hawai’i employment law seminar, “Turning Recovery Into Resilience,” is set for this Thursday, Sept. 19, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Kauai Coconut Beach Resort Paddle Room in Waipouli.
The seminar is sponsored by the Kaua’i Chamber of Commerce, and will be led by labor-law attorneys from the Honolulu law firm of Torkildson, Katz, Fonseca, Moore & Hetherington.
Topics to be covered include 2002 employment law developments, the workplace after 9/11, dealing with negative personalities, innovative discipline and discharge techniques, fast-breaking developments in labor and employment law, and Hawai’i and federal legislative updates.
Representatives of businesses large and small are encouraged to attend, said a Chamber spokeswoman.
Reservations must be made with the Kaua’i Chamber of Commerce, 245-7363, or participants can register on line, at www.kauaichamber.org.
The fee is $175 for Chamber members, and $200 for non-members, and includes continental breakfast, buffet lunch, and a copy of the sixth edition of an employment law reference publication, “The Chamber Desk Manual; Labor And Employment Law for Hawaii Employers.”
The revised book contains 31 chapters of information about Hawai’i and federal employment and labor-relations issues.
