The completion of the golf course as well as major improvements to the Kukui Grove Shopping Center were also touched on by the morning’s speakers.
(BOTTOM) Suemi Okubo and David Nobriga listen attentively as work on the Nuhou and Kaneka street projects temporarily stopped for the dedication ceremonies on Thursday morning. Okubo and Nobriga hope that the completion of the road, scheduled for December, will lessen the traffic through their Puhi subdivision by people anxious to avoid the congestion on Kaumuali’i Highway. Allan Smith of Grove Farm joked that the new road will be named after these gentlemen, for they were always on his case about getting the new road going.
