KPD searching for delivery man who attacked Lihu’e woman

The Kauai Police Department is searching for a man who reportedly assaulted a woman in a Lihu’e office building Thursday morning.

Police announced Thursday afternoon they had identified a suspect and are attempting to locate him.

The suspect is believed to be an employee of a local delivery company.

The suspect entered the office to make a delivery at approximately 9:43 a.m. and reportedly grabbed an object and struck the victim, then tried to drag her into the back of the office.

Other office workers heard the commotion and entered the area where the assault occurred.

The suspect fled from the office when he saw the co-workers.

The victim is being treated at Wilcox Hospital.
