Parts of a single small car were left on both sides of Maluhia Road near Koloa Sunday morning in a one-car crash that injured three occupants.
Of the three taken to Wilcox Memorial Hospital, one was treated and released, one remains in stable condition at Wilcox, and another was flown to Queen’s Medical Center Monday morning for further treatment, according to a Wilcox spokeswoman.
Kauai Police Department reports indicate that around 2:05 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 11, the vehicle was headed toward Koloa when it crossed the oncoming lane of traffic, hit a tree, then careened back across both lanes of the road, coming to rest on the shoulder.
A bumper, window glass and other parts of the car were left near the tree, according to police.
