BOISE, Idaho – Lihue’s Lehua Wise posted the lowest round for the Hawaii Team Thursday in the 25th Girls Junior America Cup Team Matches at the Crane Creek Country Club in Boise, Idaho.
Wise shot an 82 on Tuesday, an 81 on Wednesday and a 74 on Thursday for the Hawaii Team, which finished third overall in the tournament.
The team, which consists of Kira-Ann Murashige, Stephanie Kono and Lindsay Hong, shot a three-round total of 715. Wise’s 237 total in three days led the Hawaii pack. Murashige shot a 240; Kono a 241 and Hong had a 242.
In first place is the Southern California team with a total of 687; Northern California was right behind with a 692; Mexico trailed Hawaii by one stroke with a 715; San Diego and British Columbia tied for sixth with a 718; Washington took seventh with a 722.
The rest of the pack – Idaho, Oregon, Arizona, Colorado, Alberta, Sun Country, Utah, Montana, Southern Nevada, Northern Nevada and Wyoming (in that order).
The purpose of the Cup was to bring together girls from 11 western states, Canada and Mexico to foster new friendships and showcase top-notch golf.
