NEW MEXICO – The Big Island’s Kalai Nobriga is the all alone as the only competitor from Hawaii to make the 3rd Go at the National High School Rodeo Finals in Farmington, New Mexico.
Nobriga is electrifying the multi-country tournament in the Boys Cutting Event, where he is sitting in second place just two points behind the leader. If he was to win the cutting competition, he would be the first person from Hawaii to have won an event in the national competition.
Kauaians have also made their mark in the National High School Rodeo. Many of them top the lists of Hawaii competitors and have represented the state well at the Finals.
There were no times or overall standings submitted as of yet for the competition. TGI will print the full results in a future edition.
