Lynne Nagaoka was recently promoted to director of human resources at the Kaua’i Marriott Resort & Beach Club along Kalapaki Beach.
Formerly human resources manager, Nagaoka replaces Andrew Newmark, who returned home to Australia.
In addition to overseeing the human resources department, she will create, implement and oversee training programs and learning systems to support workforce planning and career development.
Nagaoka joined the Kaua’i Marriott in 1995 as a convention services manager, and previously served as a catering sales manager at Hyatt Regency Kauai Resort & Spa, and the Westin Kauai.
She is a board member of the Kauai United Way, Kauai Job Service Employer Committee and Kauai High School Academy of Travel and Tourism.
Nagaoka is also treasurer of the Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School PTSA, and a member of the Kauai Chamber of Commerce.
Born on the Big Island, she holds an associate’s degree in travel industry management from O’ahu’s Kapiolani Community College.
