HANAPEPE – Tourney fever has only just begun on the Garden Island of Kaua’i.
This Monday, just one day following the conclusion of the Garden Island Classic Softball tournament, a total of 185 people – including mothers, fathers, grandparents, and friends of players – will have arrived from Carlsbad, California, to partake in the bi-annual Kaua’i Aloha 2002 baseball and softball tournament.
According to tourney officials, the Carlsbad baseball community loved their stay on the island so much during the Kaua’i Aloha 2000, many of them are returnees.

There will be 13 teams representing Kaua’i, three of them out of Lihue and the rest from West Kaua’i.
All of the games will take place at Hanapepe Ball Park, and each day the games will begin at 12 p.m. and end at around 6:30 p.m. (last game begins at 4 p.m.)
