POIPU – Poipu Bay’s head pro Michael Castillo shot 12 over par 156 for a 13th overall finish at the 2002 Aloha Sectional PGA Club Professional Championship, which was held at the Poipu Bay Resort July 14-15.
Castillo shot a 77 the first day and 79 on the second for a combined 156, which was 13 strokes off the leader Brendan Moynahan of the Experience at Koele, who shot a 143.
Mathew Hall of Hapuna Golf Course was second with a 4 over par 148. Ronald Castillo, also of Hapuna, shot a six over par 150, which was tied for third with Brian Saasada of Makena Golf Club.
Other Kauaian golfers on the scoreboard: Puakea Golf Course’s Patrick Hunt shot a 15 over par 159 for 19th on the scoreboard; Kiahuna Golf Course’s Ronald Kiaaina shot a 20 over par 164 for 29th on the scoreboard.
