School starts in a few short weeks for Kapa’a Elementary, Kapa’a Middle, Kapa’a High and Kilauea Elementary schools, as students and faculty there are on a modified, or year-round, school calendar.
At Kapa’a High School, fee collection for students in all grades is set for Monday through Friday, July 15 to 19, from 8 a.m. to noon each day in the school chorus room.
Freshman orientation, for students entering the ninth grade at Kapa’a High School, is set for Thursday, July 25, from 7:40 a.m. to noon in the Bernice Hundley Gymnasium on campus.
Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend the orientation along with their children. Freshmen will get their class schedules; have the opportunity to meet teachers, staff and administrators; tour the campus and get acquainted with their various classrooms; and pay student fees if those fees were not paid the week before.
Buses and snacks will be available on orientation day, but lunch will not be served.
All students report for classes at Kapa’a High School on Friday, July 26.

At Kapa’a Middle School, sixth-grade orientation is Thursday, July 25, with seventh-grade orientation on Friday, July 26. Eighth-grade orientation is Monday, July 29, and classes start for all three grades on Tuesday, July 30.
