At its meeting Thursday, the County Council’s Committee of Planning is expected to discuss alleged grading violations on coastal land in Pila’a and property next to Moloa’a Bay owned by Honolulu auto dealer Jimmy Pflueger.
Earlier, councilman Gary Hooser had asked representatives from the county planing department and the county public works department to be present at meetings on the issue.
The family of Amy Marvin has contended unpermitted grubbing on land Pflueger owns resulted in runoff and mud to be dumped on their property in Pila’a Bay.
Pflueger also is alleged to have had culverts installed in a hillside above the Marvin home to divert water.
The diversion, complaints say, resulted in runoff to flow into the bay, possibly damaging marine ecosystems and marine life, although there has been no study done to confirm environmental damage.
Following heated public protest for quick action, the county has stepped up its investigation into the grubbing activities and other work done on coastal lands owned by Pflueger.
In other matters, the council’s Committee of the Whole is expected to look at a request to hire a clerk to help the county’s building division with the management of a project connected with the bicycle/pedestrian proposed at Lydgate Park, a federal grant for a wall-hardening project and a county public improvement project related to the Americans With Disabilities Act.
