Police are searching for Monique Otani, 25, who was last seen on Sunday at approximately 11 a.m. She reportedly left her boyfriend’s Kapa’a home at that time on her bicycle, to meet a friend on the Westside.
Otani weighs 150 pounds, has brown hair, blue eyes, and a tattoo of a sun on her left shoulder. She was wearing a white, flowered halter top, khaki-colored shorts, and black slippers, and had a blue backpack. She was riding a blue, full-size mountain bike, with a broken left brake cable. In the Walter Robert “Fig” Mitchell murder investigation, the KPD is trying to locate a vehicle that was last seen speeding from the scene of this crime in Wailua (4-422 Kuhio Hwy.), on Monday, June 10, at approximately 12:50 p.m.
The vehicle is described as a large, American-made, four-door sedan, with tinted windows. The vehicle was either a dusty rose or mauve color. Anyone with information about this vehicle should call KPD dispatch at 241-6711, or Detective Kaleo Perez at 241-6747.
