The Kauai Coconut Beach Resort Tennis Club will be having its “Summer Jr. Tennis and Swim Camp” starting in June.
There will be three sessions available: Session 1 from Wedneday, June 5, to Monday June 24. Session two from Monday, July 1, through Friday, July 20. And Session three will be held from Monday, July 20, to Thursday, August 15.
Camp days will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The hours for camp will be from 8:20 a.m to Noon.

Ha’ena to Hanalei Run/Walk/Relay
The Hanalei Civic Canoe Club will hold its 22nd Annual Ha’ena to Hanalei Run/Walk/Relay on Saturday, June 1 on the beautiful North Shore of Kauai. The 8-mile course begins at the end of the road in Ha’ena and ending at the historic Hanalei Pier.
The race will start at 7 a.m.; registration and check-in will be held at 5:30 a.m. – 6:25 a.m. at the Hanalei Pier on race day, or at Hanalei Canoe Club on Friday, May 31 from 4:30 – 6 p.m. Bus transportation from the Hanalei Pier to the Starting line will be provided from 5:45 a.m. – 6:30 a.m. There also will be a 1 mile Youth run starting at 7:30 a.m. at the Hanalei Pier for ages 14 and under.
Proceeding the Run will be an All You Can Eat Pancake Breakfast at the Hanalei Canoe Club beginning at 8 a.m. Tickets for the Pancake Breakfast are available for $5. All Runners Eat Free!
We are expecting about 200 runners this year. Entry fees are as follows: 8-mile Individual Run. $ 25 ($30 on race day); 8 mile Team Relay $25 per person ($30 per person on race day); 1 mile Youth Run $10 ($15 on race day). First 100 registrant’s runners get a free T-shirt.

Registration Open for Kilauea Volcano Wilderness Runs
The 20th Annual Kilauea Volcano Wilderness Runs will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2002 in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. This event, sponsored by the Volcano Art Center, has become the largest wilderness run in the state of Hawaii. Over 1,000 runners from Hawaii, the mainland U.S. and other countries will take the challenge on four separate events; the grueling 26.2 mile Marathon, called “one of the world’s toughest measured marathons”, the 10 mile Rim Run, the 5 mile Caldera Run, and the 5 mile Caldera Walk.
The Kilauea Volcano Wilderness Runs brings together people of all ages and levels. Professional marathon runners to casual walkers have an opportunity to participate in a unique experience in a majestic and awe-inspiring setting.
Race applications are available at numerous sporting goods stores, bike, shops, and health clubs throughout Hawaii. Registering before July 1 is strongly recommended for all runs. The marathon is limited to 225 runners with a time limit of 7 hours and 30 minutes.
Funds raised will support the programs of the Volcano Art Center, a non-profit educational organization that promotes the artistic and cultural heritage of Hawaii’s people and environment through activities in the visual, literary, and performing arts.

Registration Continues for 2002 Westfield Junior PGA Championship
Entries continue to be accepted for the 2002 Aloha Section Westfield Junior PGA Championship. Section Championship for ages 12 & under will be held at the Naniloa Country Club in Hilo, Tuesday and Wednesday, June 18-19, 2002. Championship site for ages 13 & above will be held at the Honolulu Country Club on Oahu, Monday & Tuesday, June 17-18, 2002.
The winners of the 13 & older boys’ and girls’ division qualify to join nearly 100 of the nation’s top junior golfers in the national Westfield Junior PGA Championship, July 17 – 20, at Westfield Group Country Club in Westfield Center, Ohio.
Open to juniors, ages 17 and under, the 27th annual national championship features the boy and girls champions from each of the PGA of America’s 41 Sections, season point leaders in the 2002 PGA Junior Series and members of the 2001 American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Junior All-American first team.
The boy and girl Aloha Section PGA Junior Champions will receive free round-trip air transportation, meals and lodging to compete in the national Westfield Junior PGA Championship.
The Junior PGA Championship, one of the premier events in junior golf, has attracted more than 176,000 juniors since its origin in 1976. Past competitors include many of today’s leading PGA and LPGA touring professionals, including Tiger Woods, Justin Leonard, Phil Mickelson, Dottie Pepper and Michelle McGann.
