Major Division play continued into the second round last week for Kawaihau Community Little League.
The Astros hosted the Mets on Wednesday, May 8, with the Mets winning 11-2.
Parker Blaylock went five innings for the Astros, striking out three batters. Chris Sandobal and Stephanie Kawamura came on in relief with a strikeout apiece.
Travis Shigeta started for the Mets going three innings with four strikeouts. James Noone came on in relief for two innings with three strikeouts. Harry Noone was the closer also with three strikeouts.
Hitting for the Astros were Cody House and Stephanie Kawamura, each with a single.
For the Mets, James Noone had three singles and a double, Wesley Abalos had a single, Harry Noone and Leilani Laranio each hit a double while Travis Shigeta contributed a single and triple.
– The Yankees hosted the Dodgers on Thursday, May 9 with the Yankees winning 10-5.
Going the distance for the Yankees was Jacob Planas with eight strikeouts.
Alan Kahaunaele started for the Dodgers lasting two innings and striking out three. CJ Maglinti came on in relief, striking out two batters in three innings.
Hitting for the Yankees were Kaleo Kaui with a triple, Jacob Planas with a pair of singles and Aaron Villatora with a single and double. Austin Rapozo Micah Rapozo and Jason Burrell each contributed a single.
For the Dodgers, Grayson Gonsalves, Alan Kahaunaele and Matt Ornellas, Jr. each had a double. CJ Maglinti kicked in a single and William Valente-Gonsalves hit two singles.
– On Friday, May 10, the Yankees played the Diamondbacks with the Yankees picking up the win, 16-2.
Kilika Dettloff pitched a complete game for the Yankees, with five strikeouts.
Kenny Fejeder was starting pitcher for the Diamondbacks, lasting 2 innings and striking out two batters. Dante Bisson pitched three innings in relief with two strikeouts.
