Three Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School students and two teacher chaperones left Kaua’i Wednesday afternoon to accept national honors for their Web projects under the Thinkquest program. With the support of the Kaua’i Economic Development Board, the team will accept their awards at the Computers & Writing 2002 Conference on the Illinois State University campus on Friday, and seek to hold the 2003 conference on Kaua’i. The web team of a dozen students got involved after being sought out by the ThinkQuest program, and after submitting two projects, earned first and second place in their competitive divisions.
