The family and friends of Hokuanu Aki have planned a fundraising concert to help the Aki family pay for the Kaua’i High School students medical expenses and rehabilitation following a shark attack in which he lost his lower left leg.
Na Hoku Hanohano award winner Natural Vibrations will headline the event, to feature at least 10 other local acts.
Starla Pimental, Heiura Tahitian Halau, Na Molokama, Opihi Pickers, Ka La Hiki Ola, Chico and Gabby, Papa’a Bay Boys, Shilo Pa and Sean Carillo, Island Vibes, Lifetime Band, Pacific Vibes, Soul Harmony, Revival and other guest artists will perform.
In addition to the musical performances, there will be a silent auction, raffle and Garden Island Inflatables.
The kanikapila is set for Saturday, May 11, 11 a.m.-8 p.m. at the Kukui Grove Pavilion. Tickets are available for a $15 donation from PS&D in Hanapepe, Lihu’e and Kapa’a; Hanalei Surf Company; Progressive Expressions, Larry’s Music; Big KMart; and Kalaheo Coffee Company.
