The first Annual Marriott Kaua’i Vacation Clubs Relay Challenge (Kaua’i Ho’e Waa) will be held on April 28th. Marriott Kauai Vacation Clubs is doing a wonderful job in working to make this a great sporting event for our paddlers and neighbor island paddlers, as well as awesome exposure for our beautiful island.
The Kaua’i Ho’e Waa will also be holding its Kaua’i championship canoe race May 12.
This will be a challenging 20+ mile run from Kalapaki to Port Allen.
On May 19, 2002, the annual Molokai to Oahu One Man race will be held from Kaluakoi, Molokai to Hawaii Kai, Oahu a distance of 32 miles.
Steve Cole of Hanalei is a previous winner of this race and has won the Masters over 40 yrs. the past two years. Kawika Goodale of Hanalei was 2nd in the Masters over 50 the past two years.
